Mu Alpha Theta Meeting 1/24/06

1. AMC test is Tuesday, Jan. 31 during my planning (1st block) or Mr. Fore’s planning (2nd Block). We need 10  people to take it. 

     a. prepare for test before/after school? 

2. Tutor requests: 

     a. Algebra II Thursday after school (Victoria Dotson)

     b. Geometry any day before school (7:50-8:20) (Alysia Fitzpatrick) 

3. Pi Day ideas 

     a. Math contest the week of pi day (open to high school only?) 

          i. We’ll need 5 challenging math questions that do not involve calculus. 

          ii. A committee to tally results 

     b. Prizes possibly donated by local businesses.

          i. A committee to call local restaurants/stores and ask for donations of gift cards/coupons. 

     c. Teacher contest committee 

          i. Letters to all teachers to inform them 

          ii. Best way to run contest?

          iii. People to count money at the end of each day. 

     d. Assembly to announce winners of math contest and teacher contest
